The Sokehs Municipal Government seeks a well-qualified individual to fill the role of the Natural Resources Coordinator (NRC).


Job Title:     Natural Resource Coordinator

Location:     Sokehs Municipal Government

Salary:         USD $356.00 bi-weekly plus COLA  

Term:           Permanent

Duties and Responsibilities:

The NRC will uphold sustainable fishing initiatives and execute goals and objectives of locally established natural resources management plans in Sokehs. He/She will work with stakeholders and support local partners (Pohnpei State government agencies, MCT, Rare, CSP, and other relevant partners) in implementing sustainable land and coastal resource and fisheries management activities, including but not limited to, establishment and strengthening of marine protected area networks and managed access fishing areas, set up of fisher registration and catch data collection systems, formation and training of management bodies, and the conduct of community engagement and behavior adoption campaigns, as well as environmental protection.



● AS/AA degree from an accredited institution

● Strong recording, writing and reporting skills

● Computer literate with software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

● Demonstrated ability to interact, coordinate and collaborate with local partners and stakeholders

● Ability to work independently and as part of a team

● 2 years of works experience
